Street Corner, Napoli

Street Corner

This image really sums up Naples for me … shabby, fascinating and one never knows what one might find!

Enjoyed taking my brother for his first visit … we walked … & walked around the ‘Centro Storico’ and very nearly got lost in the Spanish Quarter along the Montecalvario area. A little unnerving as we wandered up and down the narrow streets worrying about missing the next train home. But it was also intriguing. The older residents were watching the world go by (us in this case!) from the cool dark recesses of their tiny apartments or narrow balconies, peering through the day’s laundry still hanging out to dry. We had to ask directions … they were so friendly and delighted to help. That said I was relieved when we reached the familiar sight of MonteSanto!
