Abbazia di Montecassino

Montecassino Abbey definitely worth a visit. Whether one wishes only to experience the marvel of reconstruction of this majestic Benedictine Abbey post WWII, to visit as part of a pilgrimage to the resting place of Saint Benedict himself, or to reflect on the courage and bravery of all those caught up in the conflict that destroyed the original buildings and who now rest in the local cemeteries dedicated to them alone.

It is a beautiful place. The building is imposingly situated above the town of Montecassino offering breathtaking views and the basilica is both beautiful and peaceful.
