A hike up the steep slope of ‘Carney Park’ to admire the view across to Vesuvius was just what I needed after a week of not doing much exercise on account of hosting visitors who were unable to do much walking. We ate very well of course, but this has only added to my feeling of lethargy and overall lack of energy.
The wind was up but that was bracing and really dispersed any remaining feelings of torpor.
And with nature on the very cusp of spring, I was greeted by the sweet faces of some wild flowers peaking through the last of autumn’s leaf litter and dead grasses.
“You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep Spring from coming.”
– Pablo Neruda
