Rocca Calascio, Gran Sasso

We hiked from the medieval village of ‘Santo Stefano di Sessania’ across the hills and sheep pasture to ‘Rocca Calascio’ to capture the views all around and to visit the ruins of this amazing one thousand year old fortress (and which is the highest fortress in Abruzzo). The sun was very hot, but luckily the breeze was also strong!
