Day Trip to Rome

Rome never disappoints.

So much to see at every junction. Elegance and history combined – a powerful combination that pulls in tourists by the thousands. And that is despite the searing summer heat!

We took an early train from Naples and spent the day walking the sights. The queues to The  Collosseum and The Forum were already long when we arrived by 11am but that didn’t matter as there are numerous viewing points that can satisfy the onlooker and the photographer. But of course the real fun is to stroll through the ruins themselves and the best time of year is during January or February (though preferably when the weather is fine).

It was a challenge to capture these images without also capturing hourdes of tourists.
