Christmas 2016

Christmas seems an age ago!

Advent always promises fun alongside the exciting anticipation of Christmas parties, delicious food and of course the exchange of beautiful gifts. It can also leave us exhausted (certainly as a Mum!). Yet should it not also be a time for reflection and quiet waiting? This year I set myself a small (and enjoyable) challenge to put aside a little time each day just for myself to read Advent poetry and short stories. It was so relaxing and helped me to keep hold of the essence of Christmas all too easily lost in the manic activity of the Christmas season.

January arrived with the promise of quieter days and a chance to tidy a house ravaged by the weeks of visitors (mostly teens). It was also a chance to restock the fridge with healthy food!
